Reasons behind low crime in Singapore

Singapore, in yesteryear (long ago) wasn't crime free and wasn't a safe city to live or settled when it was under Malaysian Govt. Even after independence things were not so easy for Singaporeans and its Govt. The credit goes to Lee Kaun Yew, who brought Singapore at number 1 position and set an example for world. A few years ago, Singapore was ranked as #1 country for its Cleanliness n Safety. I heard people saying "As clean as Singapore".......

A few reasons why Singapore is Crime free or has low crime rate:

1) Very Strict laws and regulations
2) Severe Punishment -- even there is punishment for littering, spitting, jay-crossing etc..
3) Strict and continuous Monitoring
4) Public Awareness and Alert Citizens
5) Lower Unemployment Rate and Absence of desperate Poverty
7) Small Island with highly secured borders
8) Well Organised and Well Planned
9) High Literacy Rate
10) Professionalism

and so on.....

Singapore Govt. has created a very nice "ecosystem" which in result help them to minimize the crime rate. Among all the above mentioned reasons, the public awareness programs and Alert Public play a great role to keep the country united and crime free. Every inch of Singapore is under observation by THIRD EYE which is Surveillance Camera n Hidden Camera.

A Salute to Lee Kaun Yew and his management for their contribution to Singapore and to World.

Singapura - A country where crime sleeps 24/7: Low Crime Doesn't Mean No Crime

Singapura - A country where crime sleeps 24/7: Low Crime Doesn't Mean No Crime: "Singapura, an island which gives you all kinda pleasure. I have been here for 2 years now and in my two years of stay in lovely Singapore, ..."

Low Crime Doesn't Mean No Crime

Singapura, an island which gives you all kinda pleasure. I have been here for 2 years now and in my two years of stay in lovely Singapore, I have never ever heard or seen any kind of crime. I have seen tipsy beautiful girls roaming in the lonely lanes in the midnight without getting into the wrong hands. I have seen small children roaming alone and reach their home safely. Parents are not worried about their children if they will be kidnapped or raped or become the prey of serial killers or a psycho. I have seen athletes practicing around 2 am. I have seen teenagers going for cycling in the midnight and I have also seen Ghost Hunters trying to capture ghosts/unseen in the middle of graveyard, forest and so called haunted places but seems even Ghosts in Singapore not dare to create any crime :-) As long as you are in Singapore, the every steps you take is safe.

Its an Island which hardly sleeps but its the same island where crime sleeps almost every minute. I must say that the management of neighboring countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and India must learn from Singapore to minimize its alarming crime rate and corruption.

Even when there is No crime in Singapore, the Singapore Govt. and Management make sure to maintain it by sending a strong message to its people which says "Low Crime Doesn't Mean No Crime". But I say less crime is more than sufficient while comparing to those countries where people are always dreaming about it.
